Builds/Meister
Meister is the 4th job of the Mechanic (Blacksmith or Whitesmith → Mechanic → Meister). It is a heavy physical damage dealer with two styles: jumping into groups with a two-handed axe, or blasting from range while riding a Madogear. Many of its skills ignore DEF or debuff enemies for the whole party.

Key 4th-job skills
The POW parts of Rush Strike, Powerful Swing, Energy Cannonade and Attack Machine are marked as unconfirmed in the server code and may change in a future update. All damage skills use your weapon's element and scale with your base level (×base level/100). Numbers are at max skill level. Skills marked "Mado" need you to ride a Madogear; Rush Strike and Powerful Swing can't be used on a Madogear.
| Skill | Type | What it's for | Scales with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Axe Stomp | Melee, axe | Hits a 7×7 area around you: 1 hit, or 3 hits with a 2H axe. Gives you the Axe Stomp buff (30 s) | 6,200% + 5 per POW, base level |
| Rush Quake | Melee, jumps to a target up to 9 cells away | Hits up to a 7×7 area. Enemies hit take +50% physical damage from everyone for 30 s, and you deal +50% damage for 5 minutes. 125 AP, 30 s cooldown | 36,000% + 10 per POW (+1,500% vs Formless and Insect), base level |
| Rush Strike | Melee, jumps to a target up to 7 cells away, 2H axe | 7 hits on a 7×7 area, 0.75 s cooldown | 19,400% + 5 per POW per hit, base level |
| Powerful Swing | Melee, 2H axe | 5 hits on up to a 7×7 area | 4,700% + 5 per POW per hit (+600% during Axe Stomp), base level |
| Mighty Smash | Melee, axe | 5 hits around you (7 during Axe Stomp) | 2,480% + 5 per POW per hit (2,500% + 10 per POW during Axe Stomp), base level |
| Spark Blaster | Long range, Mado | 2 hits on a 9×9 area, ignores DEF | 14,600% + 5 per POW, base level |
| Triple Laser | Long range (11 cells), Mado | 3 hits on one target. Can crit. Best POW scaling of the class | 6,400% + 12 per POW per hit, base level |
| Energy Cannonade | Long range, Mado | 7 hits on up to a 9×9 area, ignores DEF | 4,000% + 5 per POW per hit, base level |
| Two Hand Axe Def | Passive | With a 2H axe you take 10% / 15% / 18% less weapon damage from small / medium / large attackers at Lv 10 | – |
Prerequisites: Axe Stomp needs Two Hand Axe Def 5. Rush Quake needs Axe Stomp 5, Rush Strike needs Rush Quake 5, Powerful Swing needs Rush Strike 3, Mighty Smash needs Axe Stomp 3. On the Mado side, Spark Blaster needs Manufacture Machine 1, Triple Laser needs Spark Blaster 5 and Energy Cannonade needs Triple Laser 3. You get about 59 skill points by job 60.
Attack Machine, Defense Machine and the ABR robots use Device Capsules or Auto Battle Capsules, which you craft with Manufacture Machine from a Device Creation Guide, Mini Furnaces, Oridecon Hammers and Magic Gear Fuel. The builds below don't depend on them.
Build: Two-handed axe (leveling)
The strongest everyday build. Rush Strike's 7 hits make it one of the hardest-hitting leveling skills on the server.
- Stats
- STR 130, VIT 120, DEX 110, INT 90 (Rush Strike and Powerful Swing cost a lot of SP), rest AGI.
- Traits
- First 60 points: POW (+5% ratio per POW on every hit, +10% on Rush Quake). Your job bonus already gives +10 POW, +10 STA, +7 CRT and +7 CON at job 60. Later, POW up to 110, then STA for RES and CON.
- Skills to max first
- Two Hand Axe Def 10, Axe Stomp 5, Rush Quake 10, Rush Strike 5, Powerful Swing 5, Mighty Smash 10. With the last 14 points you can add Manufacture Machine 1, Spark Blaster 5, Triple Laser 3 and Energy Cannonade 5 for a Mado backup.
- Playing it
- Keep the Axe Stomp buff up (it also hits 3 times with a 2H axe). Jump into a group with Rush Strike, then use Powerful Swing or Mighty Smash on what's left. Open bosses and big pulls with Rush Quake: the +50% damage taken also helps your party.
Build: Madogear cannon (ranged)
Safer, ranged play. Rent a Madogear from the Mado Gear Armorer (Prontera and other towns; you need Mado License). Magic Gear Fuel and Cannon Balls are sold by the Black Marketeer NPCs (one is inside Prontera).
- Stats
- STR 130, DEX 120 (Spark Blaster and Energy Cannonade have 1.5 s casts), VIT 110, INT 90, rest AGI.
- Traits
- POW first: Triple Laser gets 12% per POW, the best in the class. Then CON (P.ATK and HIT) and STA.
- Skills to max first
- Manufacture Machine 1, Spark Blaster 10, Triple Laser 5, Energy Cannonade 5, Two Hand Axe Def 5, Axe Stomp 5, Rush Quake 10, Mighty Smash 10. Axe Stomp, Mighty Smash and Rush Quake all work on the Madogear.
- Playing it
- Spark Blaster and Energy Cannonade from range on groups (both ignore DEF, great on armored robots), Triple Laser on single targets. Use Rush Quake on bosses to set up the damage debuff.
Before 4th job (base 99–200)
As a Mechanic, Axe Tornado (axe) hits everything around you for 1,100% + 2% per VIT at Lv 5, ×base level/100, which is why VIT is a good early stat. On the Madogear, Arm Cannon (Lv 5: 2,150%, uses Cannon Balls) hits groups from 9 cells away. Raise STR, VIT and DEX; learn Mado License so you can rent a Madogear. None of the 4th-job skills need Mechanic skills as prerequisites; just keep Mado License if you want to ride a Madogear.
Tips
- Experimenting is cheap: stat reset 5,000z, skill reset 5,000z, both 9,000z at the Reset Girl.
- The Tartaros Storage robots (Broken Cleaning Robot Ω, Broken Beta Guards) and Nightmare Clock Tower's Big Ben and Big Bell are Formless: Rush Quake gets +1,500% on them. See the Leveling Guide.
- Your skills use your weapon's element. Neutral does only 90/70/50% to Ghost 1/2/3 monsters, so bring an elemental weapon to the 2nd Power Plant.
- Rush Quake costs 125 of your 200 AP. Axe Stomp, Energy Cannonade (3 AP each) and Rush Strike, Powerful Swing, Spark Blaster (2 AP each) refill it as you fight.
- Rush Strike and Rush Quake jump you to the target, so watch out for pulling too much.
