Builds/Cardinal
Cardinal is the 4th job of the Arch Bishop (Priest → Arch Bishop → Cardinal). It is the main party healer and buffer, and it can also deal strong Holy magic damage. Magic builds can use any staff or rod; the mace skills need a mace, two-handed mace or book.

Key 4th-job skills
Some values are marked as unconfirmed in the server code (the SPL part of Arbitrium and the P.ATK/S.MATK bonus of Competentia) and may change in a future update. Damage numbers are at max skill level (with Fidus Animus 10) and are multiplied by your base level / 100.
| Skill | Type | What it's for | Scales with |

| Mediale Votum | Support buff | Heals the party around the buffed player every 2 s for up to 2 minutes, with +10% to this heal | INT, base level, MATK, CRT |
| Reparatio | Support | Fully heals one player; 10 s cooldown at level 5 | – |

How healing works: Dilectio Heal and Mediale Votum heal [(base level + INT) / 5 × 30] plus your MATK, raised by bonuses like Meditatio, Offertorium and H.PLUS (+1% per CRT). Dilectio Heal multiplies the result by 1.4 at level 5. On WeeklyRO's current code, these two skills work out the heal from the stats of the player you target, so cast them on yourself while standing in your party.
Prerequisites: Dilectio Heal needs Coluceo Heal 3 and Highness Heal 3; Religio needs Crementia 3 and Benedictum needs Canto Candidus 3. Framen needs Judex 10 and Fidus Animus 5; Arbitrium and Divinus Flos also need Adoramus 5. Competentia needs Argutus Vita, Argutus Telum and Presens Acies at level 2. You get one skill point per job level (59 by job level 60).
Build: Healer (support)
For players who heal and buff a party.
- Stats
- INT 130 (heals scale with INT), VIT 100–120 so you survive, DEX about 100, the rest in LUK.
- Traits
- First ~45 points (base 210): CRT. Every CRT is +1% healing on all your heal skills. Then STA and WIS for survival. Later: CRT to 110. Your job level also gives +7 CRT (plus +10 SPL, +8 POW and some STA/WIS/CON) at max job level.
- Skills to max first
- Dilectio Heal 5, Mediale Votum 5, Religio 5, Benedictum 5, Reparatio 5, Competentia 5 (with Argutus Vita, Argutus Telum and Presens Acies at 2 or more). Put spare points into the Argutus skills and Presens Acies for damage dealers.
- Playing it
- Keep Mediale Votum on yourself and spam Dilectio Heal on yourself when the party is hurt. Buff Religio on casters and Benedictum on physical attackers; this also builds your AP. When you have 140 AP, Competentia fully restores the party and gives a big damage buff. Benedictum on yourself adds +10 CRT, which is +10% healing.
Build: Holy magic (battle)
For solo leveling. This build still heals well.
- Stats
- INT 130, DEX 120–130, VIT 80–100, the rest in LUK. Variable cast time reaches zero when DEX × 2 + INT (with bonuses) reaches 530.
- Traits
- First ~45 points: all SPL. Each 3 SPL is +1% magic damage, and Arbitrium and Divinus Flos add 10% per SPL. Next ~40: SPL to about 80, then STA/WIS. Later: SPL to 110.
- Skills to max first
- Fidus Animus 10 (+15% Holy magic damage and bigger ratios), Framen 5, Arbitrium 10, Divinus Flos 5, Pneumaticus Procella 10. Then Dilectio Heal, Religio and Benedictum with the rest.
- Playing it
- Divinus Flos is your fast spell on groups and Arbitrium hits harder but casts slower. All your attacks give AP, so drop Pneumaticus Procella on large groups or bosses whenever you have 15 AP. Cast Religio on yourself for +10 SPL.
A mace (Petitio) build is also possible: STR instead of INT, POW instead of SPL, Mace Book Mastery 10, Petitio 10 and Effligo (18,000% + 7% per POW, costs 12 AP). Petitio's ratio has no SPL part, so do not mix the two.
Before 4th job (base 99–200)
As an Arch Bishop, level with Adoramus (Holy, 11×11 at level 7+, 2,800% at level 10, 2.5 s cooldown, uses a Blue Gemstone per cast) and Judex (Holy, 1,000%, no cooldown). Both scale with base level. Highness Heal (×3.2 at level 5) is your strongest single-target heal. Go INT 130, then DEX and VIT. Keep Judex 10, Adoramus 5, Coluceo Heal 3, Highness Heal 3, Crementia 3 and Canto Candidus 3 for your 4th-job skills (and Duple Light 10 / Oratio 5 if you want the mace skills).
Tips
- Holy does 0% to Holy monsters, such as Spell Addicted Sanare in the 2nd Power Plant. It does 150% to Shadow 2 monsters like Mutant Twin Caput in Rudus Dungeon 3.
- Using an Ancilla (made with the Arch Bishop skill Ancilla) gives 60 s of +15% healing received and turns your Divinus Flos Neutral, which fixes the Holy-monster problem.
- Religio and Benedictum have a 0.25 s cooldown and give 2 AP each, so a healer can build AP for Competentia between fights.
- For the battle build, check monster elements in the Leveling Guide: Neutral monsters (common in Rudus Dungeon and Nightmare Clock Tower) take full Holy damage, but Poison 3 monsters such as Mutant Dolor take only 50%.
- Stat and skill resets at the Reset Girl cost only 5,000 Zeny each, so switching between healer and battle builds is cheap.
