Builds/Biolo

From WeeklyRO Wiki

Biolo is the 4th job of the Genetic (Alchemist or Creator → Genetic → Biolo). It is a physical area-damage class that throws explosive powders and thorns, and it can also brew bottles for elemental acid zones, party protection and plant summons. Its 4th-job skills don't need a specific weapon, so use your highest-ATK axe, mace or sword.

These builds are advice, based on how skills are calculated on WeeklyRO. They are a good starting point, not the only way to play. Skill formulas can change with server updates. Stat and skill resets are cheap at the Reset Girl, so feel free to experiment.

At a glance

Role Physical area damage, solo leveling
Weapons Any (no 4th-job skill needs a weapon type); a cart for Genetic skills
Main stats (3rd job) STR, VIT, DEX (plus INT for Cart Cannon before 4th)
Main traits (4th job) POW, then STA or CON
Difficulty Medium

Key 4th-job skills

The POW parts of Mystery Powder and Dust Explosion are marked as unconfirmed in the server code and may change in a future update. All damage skills use your weapon's element and scale with your base level (×base level/100). Numbers are at max skill level. "RR" means while Research Report is active.

Skill Type What it's for Scales with
Explosive Powder Melee, weapon element Hits a 7×7 area around you 3 times (5 with RR). 0.7 s cooldown 3,750% + 5 per POW per hit (+500% with RR), base level
Mayhemic Thorns Long range (9 cells), weapon element 3 hits (4 with RR) on a 9×9 area. 1 s cast. Can crit 3,600% + 5 per POW per hit (+200% with RR), base level
Mystery Powder Melee (3 cells), weapon element One big hit on up to a 7×7 area, 1.5 s cooldown. Gives you the Mystery Powder state for 60 s 21,500% + 5 per POW, base level

Acidified Zone (Water, Ground, Wind, Fire) Long range, Water / Earth / Wind / Fire 7 hits on an area, element of your choice. Needs 2 matching Acid Bottles per cast (1 with RR) 2,000% + 5 per POW per hit; +50% with RR, and another +50% vs Formless and Plant with RR, base level
Wooden Warrior, Wooden Fairy, Creeper, Hell Tree Summons Plant helpers. Wooden Warrior doubles Cart Tornado and Wooden Fairy doubles Spore Explosion while they are out. Need High Plant Bottles –
The Whole Protection / Advance Protection Party buffs The Whole Protection protects your party's weapon, shield, armor and headgear; Advance Protection protects one player's shadow gear. Need High Coating Bottles –

The bottles are made with Bionic Pharmacy and every recipe also needs a Beaker, so the builds below are built around the powders and Mayhemic Thorns, which cost only SP.

Prerequisites: Explosive Powder needs Bionics Mastery 3. Mayhemic Thorns needs Bionics Mastery 5 and Explosive Powder 3. Mystery Powder needs Explosive Powder 5, and Dust Explosion needs Mystery Powder 3. Research Report needs Acidified Zone Fire 3 and Water 3, which in turn need Ground 1, Wind 1, Bionic Pharmacy 5 (which needs the Genetic skill Special Pharmacy 5) and Bionics Mastery 3. That is 14 points just for the path, but Research Report is worth it. Bionics Mastery itself only makes your plant summons stronger. You get about 59 skill points by job 60.

Build: Powder brawler (leveling)

Fast area damage up close. Best on packed maps.

Stats
STR 130, VIT 120, DEX 110, INT 90 (the powders cost 64–97 SP each), rest AGI.
Traits
First 60 points: POW (every damage skill gets +5% ratio per POW, and 3 POW = +1% damage). Then about 30 STA, because you fight in melee range. Later, POW up to 110, then CON. Your job bonus already gives +12 CRT, +8 POW, +7 CON and +5 STA at job 60.
Skills to max first
Bionics Mastery 5, Explosive Powder 5, Mystery Powder 5, Dust Explosion 5, then the Research Report path (Bionic Pharmacy 5, Acidified Zone Wind 1, Ground 1, Water 3, Fire 3, Research Report 1), then Mayhemic Thorns 10. Spare points: Bionics Mastery or the protection skills.
Playing it
Turn on Research Report whenever it is off cooldown. Walk into a group, cast Mystery Powder (it unlocks Dust Explosion for 60 s), then alternate Dust Explosion (0.5 s cooldown) and Explosive Powder. With Research Report, Explosive Powder hits 5 times instead of 3.

Build: Thorns (ranged)

Safer play from 9 cells away, good for players who die a lot in melee.

Stats
STR 130, DEX 120 (shortens the 1 s cast), VIT 110, INT 90, rest AGI.
Traits
POW first, then CON (+P.ATK and +2 HIT per CON) and STA.
Skills to max first
Bionics Mastery 5, Explosive Powder 3, Mayhemic Thorns 10, the Research Report path (14 points), then Explosive Powder 5, Mystery Powder 5 and Dust Explosion 5 for close targets.
Playing it
Keep Research Report on (Thorns hits 4 times instead of 3 and gains +200%). Spam Mayhemic Thorns on groups before they reach you, and switch to the powders for anything that gets close.

Before 4th job (base 99–200)

As a Genetic, Cart Cannon is the main leveling skill: with Cart Remodeling 5 it deals 1,750% + 2% per INT at Lv 5, ×base level/100, on an area up to 11 cells away. It needs a cart and Cannon Balls (sold by the Black Marketeer NPCs, one inside Prontera). Cart Tornado (2,000% at Lv 10, around you) gets a little more from a heavy cart and high STR. Many Genetics level with STR and INT; your 4th job wants STR, VIT and DEX, so a stat reset at base 200 is a good idea. Get Special Pharmacy 5 before you change, because Bionic Pharmacy needs it.

Tips

  • Resets are cheap at the Reset Girl (stats 5,000z, skills 5,000z, both 9,000z).
  • Your skills use your weapon's element. Neutral does only 90/70/50% to Ghost 1/2/3 monsters, so bring an elemental weapon to the Power Plants.
  • Rudus Dungeon 2–3 and Upper and Lower Tartaros Storage have tight monster groups that suit the powders. See the Leveling Guide.
  • Research Report costs 100 of your 200 AP. Explosive Powder, Mayhemic Thorns and Dust Explosion each give 2 AP back per cast.
  • If you do get bottles, Acidified Zone with Research Report is very strong against Formless and Plant monsters (Lost Farm Valley Pitayas, Tartaros robots).
